Billy Graham LIBRARY TOUR           Mar 26, 09

and the The Ethel Waters Exhibit

Please join us as we spend the day at the Billy Graham Library. Once arriving we will tour the Dairy Farm Setting that is reminiscent of Billy Graham’s childhood. The visit includes The Restored Graham Family Homeplace, and The Library--- which offers something for all ages, you will watch amazing films, see more than 350 photographs, experience the broadcast media of 6 decades of ministry and much much more. The Library Bookstore offers you a chance to shop for unique treasures in Ruth’s Attic, named for Mr. Graham’s late wife. 

 During our visit we will also get to experience a special exhibit only at the Library for a limited time. The Ethel Waters Exhibit: His Eye Is On The Sparrow.  Ethel Waters was one of the most influential African American women in History. Her Career began as a jazz singer in the 20’s & 30”s. In 1957 she began touring with the Billy Graham Crusades, Inspiring thousands with her trademark song “His eye is on the Sparrow. This exhibit will also provide a closer look at how God used Billy Graham in the Civil Rights Movement.

Lunch is not included but time has been allotted to eat at the Graham brother’s Dairy bar –a café that is located inside the Library. Before departure do not forget to spend a few minutes in the Prayer garden. As you depart today, You will have witnessed the power of a life changed through obedience to God.

Day1: We will board our motorcoach at 7:00 AM and depart for Orlando, Florida for the beginning of “THE HOLYLAND EXPERIENCE”. We will travel through Georgia and Florida with stops along the way for lunch (not included) and dinner (included). We will check into our hotel and we’ll have time to visit some of the areas interesting sights before we retire for the evening.

In Macon, GA

Mar 23, Join us as we travel to MACON‘S CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL.  We will enjoy gracious hospitality as we witness the magnificent beauty of their 300,000 flowering Yoshino Cherry trees in the “CHERRY BLOSSOM CAPITAL of the WORLD”. Once arriving you will be able to enjoy the festival as you please. There are many free events to choose from: Sea Lion Splash, Free concerts, Third Street Park festivities and many more. “The Frescoes”

March 25, 2009 &

October 3, 2009

 

Please join us as we travel to Ashe County, NC for The Churches of The Frescoes. The beautiful paintings at the two churches began when Ben Long, an Italian –trained artist, painted three frescoes at St. Mary’s; “Mary Great with Child””, in 1974, “John the Baptist”, in 1975 and the superb “Mystery of Life”, in 1977. In the summer of 1980, he painted the fresco of “The Last Supper”, at Holy Trinity as the church was being restored. Since the frescoes were completed, hundreds of thousands of people have visited the churches. It is estimated that 60,000 pilgrims come to St. Mary’s and Holy Trinity each year. The two churches date back to 1895. We will have lunch (not included) before we visit the Ashe County Cheese factory, the oldest cheese plant, producing since 1930. Then we’ll travel home after a full day in Ashe County, NC.

We will begin our travel at approximately 8:00 am to the beautiful Mountains of Tennessee.  Once we arrive in Pigeon Forge we will have lunch (not Included). After lunch we will have time to shop before we check into our hotel.  With time to freshen up before we depart for our night’s entertainment with a dinner show at THE DIXIE STAMPEDE. We will enjoy a four-course meal as The North vs. The South Rivalry. With elaborate show horses, stunts and the incredible “ Stampede of the Buffalo”.  After dinner show we will return to the hotel for the night.

IRIS FESTIVAL”

We will begin our travel at 7:30 am to Sumter, SC., to enjoy the beauty of “SWAN LAKE & THE IRIS GARDENS”. This weekend includes the Iris Festival with arts, crafts, music and food. The beautiful Black Waters of Swan Lake form the setting for the spectacular Iris Gardens. The lake is dotted with colorful islands, and wildlife is abundant. Sumter’s Swan Lake & Iris Gardens is the main staging area for the Iris Festival. Swan Lake – Iris Gardens is also home to some of the nation’s most intensive plantings of Japanese Iris, which bloom yearly in mid to late May. The magnificent swans are gathered from all over the world representing all eight types from Asia, Australia, England and South America. As the festival has gained popularity, it has become a favorite stopping place for bus tours from all over the United States and Canada and has been covered in “Southern Living” magazine.  Collins Ole Towne

July 7, 2009

 

Please join us as we travel to Central, SC to a recreated village from the 1930’s.  All the buildings at Collins Ole Towne were constructed on the site. Much of the material used was taken from old homes around Central that was being demolished or renovated. Some of the Lumber was taken from trees on the farm and sawed into lumber, at the Sawmill at Ole Towne.  Buildings were constructed to reflect the depression Era. We will tour the following during our visit: The Little Red School House that is furnished with old lunch pails, slates and a bell that rings with just a tug of a rope, The General Store that is furnished as it would have been in the 1930’s, and a stop at The Barber Shop almost makes our visit complete. Our final stop takes us to The Collins Hill Inn for a lunch that is included.  After lunch, we will board the coach to return home.

Day 1: We will depart Greenville approx 7:00 am for our travel  to Chattanooga, TN. Once we arrive we will visit the Tennessee Aquarium and The I-Max  3-D Theater. You’ll be enchanted by seahorses, river otters, alligators, jellyfish, octopus, and huge sharks. You’ll see gentoo and macaroni penguins also.

Day 2 We’ll have breakfast and then visit Ruby Falls, a 145 foot waterfall, Rock City, a huge 14-acre natural, scenic attraction with a 4,100 foot-trail featuring rock formations and gardens. Visitors can “see seven states” from Lover’s Leap. Then it’s on to The Incline Railway where we’ll experience the thrill of “America’s Most Amazing Mile” as we ride the world’s steepest passenger railway up historic Lookout Mountain. Dinner tonight will be aboard The Southern Belle Riverboat. As we sail down the Tennessee River with wonderful entertainment.

DAY 1:  Denver, Colorado:

Depart from Greenville / Spartanburg Airport for R/T flight to Denver, Colorado. Tour of The Mile High City. Dinner included.

DAY 2: Denver*Estes Park (Famous for its Stanley Hotel, the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel The Shining)– Rocky Mountain National Park –Back to  Denver: Breakfast included.

DAY 3: Denver*Georgetown*Vail*Grand Junction: Travel through the Rocky Mountains on a scenic and historic train ride aboard the Georgetown Loop railroad. Next, we visit Vail and Later, we arrive in Grand Junction for the next two nights. Breakfast included.

DAY 4: Grand Junction*Colorado National Monument *Grand Junction.

Travel along the Rim Rock to see a panorama of deep, sheer-sided canyons and high rock towers. Breakfast and tonight is a Winemakers dinner at a lovely vineyard is included.

DAY 5: Grand Junction * Silverton*Durango.

Today’s drive will take us to a small mining town of Silverton built between 1882 and 1910. Then it’s aboard The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, an 1881 coal-fired steam-powered locomotive that was built to haul silver and gold ore from The san Juan Mountains. Breakfast included.

DAY 6: Durango*Mesa Verde National Park *Durango.

Mesa Verde National Park; Spruce Tree Cliff Dwellings and Cliff Palace, two of the largest cliff dwellings built between AD 1211 and 1278 by ancestors of the Puebloan peoples of the southwest. Spruce Tree was built into a natural cave and found to have 130 rooms and 8 ceremonial chambers. Breakfast and Dinner incl.

DAY 7: Durango,*CanonCity*Colorado Springs:Travel to Canon City and the home of Royal Gorge Railroad. Board the train for 24-mile ride beneath the highest suspension bridge in the world, The Royal Gorge Bridge, which spans the gorge 1,053 feet above the railroad tracks. Breakfast included.

DAY 8: Colorado Springs * Manitou Springs * Colorado Springs: Travel to Manitou Springs, home of Pikes Peak, the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush. We’ll board the world’s highest Pike’s Peak Cog Railway and journey 8.9 miles to the top. – then, it’s on to The Garden of The Gods. We’ll see towering Sandstone Formations. Breakfast and Dinner included.
